As part of the exploration process, the artist, in their role as a dance/movement therapy practitioner, conducted a workshop at a women’s shelter home centered on self-exploration and the relationship with oneself. This two-hour workshop culminated in each participant creating a self-portrait.
To deepen the connection between these portraits and integrate them into the larger body of work, the artist transformed the images into cyanotypes. Each cyanotype was then individually embroidered, and together they were stitched into a cohesive patchwork sheet, symbolizing collective resilience and personal narratives.
